And so I end 2004 as I ended 2003, cooking a romantic dinner for Lisa and chewing my nails about job-hunting at the AHA Conference next week. As I have no doubt told most of you, I stubbornly refuse to observe New Year's Eve, but I hope those of you who do have a great time tonight, with reasonable cover charges and kisses at midnight—and failing that, liquor and Madonna's underwear.

We're back from Bethesda and a fine holiday with the outlaws. I banged out some nice navel gazing 2004-in-review posts while there, but the news of the week made my sermons on the Daily Show and Aqua Teen Hunger Force seem even more flimsy and inconsequential than usual. So I'll probably just hold onto them until it seems more appropriate to post about stupid shit again. (Maybe Monday?)

Hope I see all of you in the so-called Real World soon. Blogging is fun but I'm all about the human contact in 2K5. Happy New Year.

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] robotnik's New Year's Rocking Eve Menu: (Clip and save!) 1998 Gini Toscana, Pork Tenderloin Medallions with Fennel and Olives in Orange Sauce, Spinach Sauteed with Shallots and Goat Cheese, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Orange Wedges, Extra-Strength Baileys Irish Sudafed Cocktails with Tylenol Cold & Sinus Chaser. Take two and call it a year, baby!

Still figuring out that stuff. I plan on calling [livejournal.com profile] vampyrusgirl in an hour or so. We're mostly looking at afternoon, 2 pm or so?

Keep me posted. I was thinking evening rather than day, but my mind could be changed.

I will too, in 1972.

Happy "Acknowledgement of Another Successful Elliptical Orbit" Day. While visiting the Parental Units last week, I noticed the Technocracy Sign on Hwy #8 hill was gone. Next day I wake up and there's was serious Rapture-related events in the news. Coincidence? Synchronicity? Synchronicity II?

Happy AoASEO to you, my friend. Good things for you in 2005. Didn't you & Brian C. & all the other Greensville Hill-ites contrive to steal the Technocracy sign for years and years? Its disappearance must mean something.

p.s. i'll find my Technocracy Sign

Can't speak for the Csermakator, but I wanted that sign for my own, knowing I could never take it. It wouldn't have fit in my locker. It symbolized "Hometown is like no other place on Earth." Ya, I'm concerned everything in the Valley Town may start to die, just like the village in Temple of Doom without the magical rock. I'll have to write the editors of the Dundas Star Journal, or talk to the dude who owns Terrapin Station.

M-O-O-N spells "Mulholland Dr."

So I just did a phone survey for the "Behavior Research Center", www.brcpolls.com ,and it was spooky. Questions regarding how honest 'n' helpful [environmental, $$$ for workers, benefits, support for local youth programs] a company should be towards it's community. Halfway through the survey I think, "Hey, is this lady asking about Technocracy?"

Citrus sauce recipes were the theme of the evening - we had some salmon in a orange sauce.
