Miskatonic High

So I downloaded the RPG InSpectres. Genre-wise it's basically a Ghostbusters rip off (and cheerfully up front about that) but in terms of game mechanics it's one of your cutting-edge indie "narrativist" games, which is geek speak for "the players get to make up the story too." It looks like, with the right players, it would be a hell of a lot of fun. What I'm really itching to do is to use it to run something in the whole Buffy / Smallville photogenic superteens versus eldritch horrors genre. I'd call it Miskatonic High. The shared narrative mechanic would be perfect for both the fast-paced monster-of-the-week bashing and the requisite WB-teen-soap subplots.

Players don't deserve to make story up! Heathen.

Funny you should mention a Buffy/Smallville kind of game. While I was up in Burlington, VT last week, I kept thinking what a great locale it'd make for that kind of game, what with the U. of Vermont, Champlain College, micro brews, 'Champ' the lake champlain monster, more used book stores than you can shake a stick at, indian burial grounds, and hemp and burkenstock wearing mother-f'ers as far as they eye can see...
