It's all about the clothes.

I saw the summer movie about black leather trenchcoats, vinyl catsuits, and dark oval sunglasses this weekend. I'd expected many things, but checking my watch in boredom wasn't one of them. Who would have thought a movie with so much kung fu could be so soporific? "Morpheus," indeed.

The weekend before this one, I got some grief from the high command for seeing the movie about houndstooth check coats and space-age polyester socks instead of fighting the crowds to see sunglasses and trenchcoats on opening night. Listen, the houndstooth and polyester movie was more enjoyable than the leather and vinyl movie in just about every measurable way. I think I even have to rate the summer movie I saw three weeks ago about goofy haircuts and black bike style leather jackets higher than sunglasses and trenchcoats.

Sigh. Now the only summer movie I've got to look forward to is the one about halter tops and platform shoes.

I saw the space-age polyester socks this weekend. Very enjoyable. I'm kind of hopeful for the one about cutlasses and black flags, though.

WOOHOO!

I did enjoy the movie about grubby ripped sweaters and catsuits. I didn't go into it expecting anything because [livejournal.com profile] gammafodder told me that it blew chunks, so I was able to ignore the cheeseball X-Files dialogue and weak plot and get straight to the wire work and animation. I do agree that it dragged in places, esp. the fight scenes, but I felt that way about the Two Towers, too. I realize that I will probably be kicked out of the nerd commune for that statement, but I'm all about living on the edge, man.
